I’m Saad, a product designer with over 5 years of experience working across mobility, ecommerce, fintech, and SaaS.
Right now I’m working as a Senior Product Designer, leading projects that sit at the intersection of product thinking and design craft.
Today, I’m at VentureDive as a senior product designer. I lead different initiatives like Dairah, a community built by designers for designers. Recently, I ran a workshop on AI and design, and I’ve been focused on mentoring younger designers while helping the team grow.
Alongside my internal work, I also consult for Motive, supporting their growth and international teams as they expand across the UK and EU. This split role has sharpened my ability to balance hands-on design with guiding strategy at scale.
Before VentureDive, I had a short but memorable stint at Get Licensed. It was brief, but it gave me friendships I still value, plenty of good coffee sessions with the founders, and a crash course in the UK training and licensing industry.
My big break came at Daraz (Alibaba), where I joined as a regional product designer and worked on the core team under Jacky. It was a crash course in scale and maintain a large design system with Chenmu’s guidance, collaborating across regions, and realizing how important consistency is when a product serves millions of people.
Before that, I worked at The Plum Tree Group, where I discovered how much I loved service design. One of my favorite projects was collaborating on Naomi Osaka’s brand, helping elevate her website’s experience and aesthetic. That was the moment design shifted from being just a skill to a craft I wanted to master.
In 2021, curiosity pushed me toward coding. I joined Sator as a junior front-end developer and spent months sharpening my skills. It didn’t take long to realize that writing code wasn’t my cup of tea but that detour opened the door to product design.
And it all began in Karachi, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in 2020 and joined a creative agency. Most of my days were spent deep in the Adobe Creative Suite, where I first understood how design could shape the way people see and feel about brands.
